About the Event
My name is Chloe and I am honored and excited for the opportunity to share in yoga with you! Yoga has had a profound impact on my physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing over the years and it is my privilege to share it with all bodies who also have a curiosity, joy, or love for this practice.
I am trained in Hatha Yoga, which honors the more traditional philosophies of Eastern yoga. The physical practice (asana) will build some heat and be physically and mentally challenging, while providing ample modifications to make poses accessible to all bodies in the class.
This will be a breath-centered class for all levels. The most basic of yoga’s breathing practices, or pranayama, can be practiced by anyone, and the benefits include releasing stress and tension, combatting fatigue, alleviating headaches, and promoting focus and concentration. Additionally, slow conscious breathing alleviates strain on our hearts and can remedy high blood pressure. Perhaps, most importantly though, is how deep yogic breathing calms and soothes the nervous system, shifting our mental and physical state from fight or flight, to rest and digest. The postures in class will focus on linking breath to movement and will end with a breath-centered meditation and short breathwork exercise.
All levels are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
